Amended proposals for redevelopment of New Covent Garden Market site go to consultation

9th July 2013

VINCI St. Modwen (VSM) has today announced a programme of public consultation on the evolving plans for the regeneration of New Covent Garden Market.

In 2012, Covent Garden Market Authority (CGMA) secured outline planning permission to build a new combined flower and fruit & vegetable market and to fund that process by developing 20 acres of surplus land. They have since appointed VSM to bring the scheme forward.

Now VSM is inviting local residents, businesses and stakeholders to attend a public exhibition and see the progress being made.

The exhibition will be held at Sir James Barrie School Hall, Condell Road, London, SW8 4JB on the following dates:
Friday 19th July 2013, 4.30pm – 8.30pm
Saturday 20th July 2013, 10am – 2pm

Colin Darby, Planning Manager at St. Modwen, said:
“Everyone living in and around Nine Elms knows there is a lot of regeneration going on. The Covent Garden market site is central to a large part of it. We are making good progress refining the approved CGMA scheme and look forward to hearing local people’s views on the emerging plans.”
