BONNINGTON CAFE ON THESSALY POP-UP ROUND-UP

October 2019

After a wonderful summer of fresh food and great events, Bonnington Cafe on Thessaly pop up is now closed for the autumn and winter.

What pops up must pop down. After a remarkable few months at the Yvonne Carr Centre, the team has turned off the ovens, swept the floors and closed the doors on VINCI St. Modwen's summer pop-up.

Over the summer, Bonnington Cafe on Thessaly welcomed the local community to eat, learn and meet inside the Yvonne Carr Centre and its gardens. It was not just a cafe, it was a place for culinary exploration where workshops were held on fermenting summer vegetables, identifying and using herbs, pizza-making and more. Not only that, VINCI St. Modwen welcomed groups such as Share Community and Nine Elms Arts Ministry to use the space for in new and different ways.

The Bonnington Cafe on Thessaly team said an enormous thank you to everybody who ate, sipped, laughed, baked, played, fermented and dined in the Yvonne Carr Centre over the summer, and also to the Yvonne Carr Centre and its staff, for hosting and helping and Wandsworth Council for its enthusiastic support. Thanks were also extended to Meal Maker, a prepared fruit and veg wholesaler at New Covent Garden Market, who provided the cafe with amazing, fresh, seasonal produce for its dishes.

While it’s time for Bonnington Cafe on Thessaly to say goodbye for now, VINCI St. Modwen hopes to break some exciting news about the future of the space in the Yvonne Carr Centre in the coming months. So keep an eye out and, and keep in touch via the cafe’s email address: hello@bonningtoncafeonthessaly.com and we'll keep you posted about future moments to celebrate, share, learn about and, of course, eat delicious food.
